Intrecci di Luce / Knitted Light

foscarini

Created for Milan Design Week 2026 in collaboration with Foscarini and TexTech, Intrecci di Luce / Knitted Light explores the relationship between light, material, and form through three-dimensional knitted structures.

The installation investigates how one of humanity’s oldest techniques can generate new spatial experiences when combined with contemporary design thinking and advanced manufacturing technologies. The textile is no longer simply a material – it becomes an active architectural element, giving form to light itself.

“When light is introduced to these 3D knits, something unexpected happens. It is no longer just a surface; the light is filtered, diffused, and ‘sculpted’ by the density of the weave. The object becomes a breathing volume that defines the space around it.”
