As co-founder and CDO, Jozeph and the Forakis Design team created MEEM’s brand identity and packaging, together with award-winning designs for both MEEM Memory Cable and MEEM App.
MEEM, the brand name we selected, comes from ‘meme’ meaning ‘a discrete unit of knowledge, analogous to a gene,’ a fitting connection to the brand’s mission of data backup. Every element of the logo, app interface, and packaging was designed to represent a simple and elegant connection to ‘cloning your data’. The animated logo begins as a single-celled unit that exponentially multiplies in fractal-like fashion. Like the logo itself, the split-screen of the app UI represents the original ‘me’ information on the left, with the copied data graphically reversed as ’em’ on the right.
